ALICE, BEATRICE, CECILIA, DAPHNE & ELENA Coffee Tables-Side Tables-Poufs by Marcel Wanders (2004-2012) from BISAZZA

The ALICE, BEATRICE, CECILIA, DAPHNE & ELENA Collection of Coffee Tables-Side Tables-Poufs-Stools-Ottomans offered from BISAZZA as part of its Home Collection was initially designed by Marcel Wanders in 2004 for the Lute Suites – a former 18th-century gunpowder factory revamped under the direction of Marcel Wanders into a series of 7 cottages that serve as luxury design suites served by the adjacent renowned Lute Restaurant.

Over the period of 2004-2012 the Collection was enriched and now comes in 5 different patterns and 2 freeform shapes: large (102 x 44 x 110 cm – 31 kg / 40.25″ x 17.25″ x 43.25″ – 69 lbs) and small (50 x 34 x 62 cm – 9 kg / 19.75″ x 13.5″ x 24.5″ – 20 lbs). The Ottoman/Occasional Tables are covered in hand-cut gold and glass mosaic and, apart from their use as furniture, they can simply be enjoyed as decorative items and beautiful pieces of art/sculpture.

The Collection can be seen and/or ordered at the BISAZZA Flagship Stores around the world.

It is, also, on permanent display at the BISAZZA FOUNDATION as part of the “Bisazza Motel” Installation. In the following video you can watch Marcel Wanders talk about this installation and his co-operation with BISAZZA (video copyright & courtesy of BISAZZA):

Currently, the Collection is also displayed at the retrospective“Marcel Wanders: Pinned Up At The Stedelijk” Exhibition (1 Feb – 15 Jun 2014) at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
